Yaoundé – Cameroon

As part of its official visit, the Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC), in collaboration with the Cameroon National Youth Council, YUMMEN Association, and the African Youth Union Commission (AYUC), organized on 23 September 2025 a pioneering training program entitled "WYLEF for Peace", with participation from over fifty young men and women representing diverse Cameroonian regions.
The program was inaugurated by Mr. Philip Lawrence, Vice President of the Council, who emphasized that youth are the driving force for building civil peace, and that training and empowering them constitutes a key investment in the continent’s stability and future.
For his part, Secretary-General Eng. Huzyfa Elhassan highlighted that the workshop reflects AAYC’s active partnerships with regional and continental youth organizations, stating:
"This program is not just theoretical training, but a practical space for young people to develop realistic solutions to conflicts and to build a future grounded in social cohesion and positive peace."
The workshop featured interactive discussion sessions and practical modules on the role of youth in conflict management, volunteerism, and peacebuilding initiatives. At the conclusion, certificates of participation, co-signed by all partner organizations, were distributed to honor the Cameroonian youths’ engagement and constructive contributions.
