Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Two Councils

On 22 September 2025, the National Celebration Hall in Yaoundé witnessed a landmark youth event, with the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Afro-Arab Youth Council and the Cameroon National Youth Council (CNJC). The ceremony was attended by H.E. the Minister of Youth of Cameroon, alongside the Afro-Arab Youth Council delegation led by Vice President Mr. Philip Lawrence and Secretary-General Engineer Huzyfa Elhassan.

On 22 September 2025, the National Celebration Hall in Yaoundé witnessed a landmark youth event, with the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC) and the Cameroon National Youth Council (CNJC). The ceremony was attended by H.E. Mounouna Foutsou the Minister of Youth and Civic Education of Cameroon, alongside the Afro-Arab Youth Council delegation led by Vice President Mr. Philip Lawrence and Secretary-General Engineer Huzyfa Elhassan.
The agreement aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of peace, security, sustainable development, youth empowerment, and volunteerism, while also opening horizons for cultural exchange and advancing continental youth engagement.
In his remarks after the signing, Mr. Philip Lawrence, Vice President, expressed his pride in this achievement, stating:
"This agreement marks the beginning of a strategic partnership whose positive impact will reach thousands of young people across Africa and the Arab world."
For his part, Secretary-General Engineer Huzyfa Elhassan emphasized that the agreement will not remain ink on paper, adding:
"The Council is determined to transform this memorandum into concrete programs that strengthen the role of youth in development and peacebuilding, making the partnership with Cameroon a model to be followed across the continent."
