The Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC) concluded its official visit to Cameroon with a comprehensive press conference held on 23 September 2025 in Yaoundé, attended by local, regional, and international media.
During the conference, the delegation, led by Mr. Philip Lawrence, Vice President, and accompanied by Secretary-General Engineer Huzyfa Elhassan, reviewed the key outcomes of the visit. These included: participation in the International Day of Peace and the launch of the National Youth, Peace, and Security Strategy, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Cameroon National Youth Council, and the organization of the WYLEF peace training program.
In his address, Vice President Philip Lawrence Ajok praised the warm Cameroonian reception, describing the visit as a milestone in Afro-Arab youth relations.
Secretary-General Engineer Huzyfa Elhassan affirmed:
"The Afro-Arab Youth Council continues its journey that began in Sudan in 2004, and to this day fulfills its mission through its General Secretariat in Khartoum, its coordinations across Africa and the Arab world, and its diaspora youth. We believe that this vast network of young energies is our true asset in implementing our initiatives."
He added:
"The visit to Cameroon was an important occasion to renew our commitment to joint action and to strengthen the role of youth as a driving force for peace, security, and development."
