The Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) is pleased to announce the official launch of the first cohort of the Peace Building Program, taking place today, Friday, 08 May 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote a culture of peace, dialogue, and youth empowerment towards building more stable and resilient communities.

The Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) is pleased to announce the official launch of the first cohort of the Peace Building Program, taking place today, Friday, 08 May 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote a culture of peace, dialogue, and youth empowerment towards building more stable and resilient communities.

The program is organized in partnership with WYLEF for Peace, with the participation of a distinguished group of experts, trainers, and youth leaders specializing in peacebuilding, community development, and youth leadership.

The first cohort brings together 30 young participants, the majority of whom are Sudanese youth, reflecting the unique circumstances currently facing Sudan and the urgent need to strengthen the values of peace, social cohesion, and constructive dialogue, while enhancing youth capacities in conflict resolution and community engagement.

The cohort also includes participants from neighboring African countries, as well as Arab and African youth from diaspora communities, reflecting the regional and international dimension of the program and the spirit of solidarity and youth integration across Arab and African societies.

The opening session will feature:

▪️ Mrs. Fadimatou Ayawa – President of the Cameroon National Youth Council (CNYC)
▪️ Mr. Buba Fatty – International Youth Expert and Peacebuilding & Community Development Specialist

The program aims to:
Promote a culture of peace and dialogue
Strengthen youth capacities in conflict management
Support youth-led community initiatives
Build an active network of young peace leaders

This program comes within the vision of the Afro Arab Youth Council to empower Arab and African youth to play a leading role in advancing peace, stability, and sustainable development, particularly in communities affected by conflict and humanitarian challenges.
