The Council officially launched following the 1st Arab & African Youth Festival hosted by Sudan in March 2004.
Since its establishment, the Council has grown into a vibrant continental platform for youth collaboration, innovation, and Afro-Arab solidarity.

The award launched and ran 4 editions, engaging 5000+ young people and honoring 300+ Arab & African creators.
The Council obtained full privileges granted to international organizations under the HQ agreement signed with the Government of Sudan.
Institutions and individuals who share our vision are welcome to strengthen Afro-Arab relations, support sustainable development, and empower youth leadership.
Types of memberships recognized by AAYC.
For officially recognized national youth platforms, associations, federations, councils, and legally registered national NGOs active in member states. Granted upon approval and fee payment.
For youth ministries and relevant state structures, and regional/international youth organizations aligned with AAYC objectives. Each member state is represented by one Associate Member institution.
For organizations outside the region wishing to engage with AAYC initiatives as observers (non-voting).
Open for youth leaders, students, professionals, and activists to participate in programs, contribute skills and ideas, and join the volunteer network (non-voting).
For international organizations active in youth work (AU, LAS, UN, etc.). Former Presidents, Secretary-Generals, and Patrons of AAYC are recognized as Honorary Members.
Recognize and align with AAYC objectives & principles.
Formal letter + legal registration + by-laws/structure + program of action.
Secretariat reviews and may seek recommendations; report to General Council.
General Assembly grants approval; honorary status by Executive Committee.
