The Afro Arab Youth Council participated in the Forum économique des jeunes du Bénin 2026, held in Cotonou from 20 to 28 February 2026. The forum was organized by the Conseil National des Jeunes Élus du Bénin and brought together a wide range of youth leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and development partners from across Africa.
The Council was represented by Khadim Diop, Vice President for the Francophone Group, who moderated a high-level panel entitled “Youth and Wealth Creation in Africa.” The session examined the role of young leaders in driving economic growth, fostering entrepreneurship, and strengthening innovation ecosystems across the continent.
The forum gathered more than 400 participants, including young leaders, government officials, parliamentarians, business leaders, and representatives of regional and international institutions. Discussions focused on youth economic empowerment, sustainable growth strategies, and expanding opportunities for innovation-led development.
Since its establishment in 2004 and headquartered in Sudan, the Afro Arab Youth Council continues to reaffirm its commitment to empowering Arab and African youth and strengthening Afro-Arab cooperation in support of inclusive and sustainable development.
