H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohieldin Salim, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Sudan, received Eng. Huzyfa Elhassan, Secretary General of the Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC), at his office, within the framework of strengthening cooperation with regional youth organizations.
The meeting addressed the importance of the role played by regional Institutions particularly youth organizations in supporting public diplomacy and enhancing relations between Arab and African peoples. H.E. commended the Council’s active role and its growing engagement through youth programs and initiatives across Africa and the Arab world.
For his part, the Secretary General reviewed the Council’s key activities over the past period, as well as its strategic plan for the upcoming phase. He highlighted the central role of the Republic of Sudan, as the host country, as a fundamental pillar in the Council’s work. He further noted that upcoming programs will focus on economic empowerment, reconstruction, and peacebuilding, contributing to community stability and strengthening youth participation in development.
The Secretary General also conveyed the greetings of the Council’s President and members of the Executive Committee, expressing their appreciation for the strong support and cooperation extended by the Government of Sudan, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, H.E. the Minister welcomed the Council’s future plans and programs, reaffirming that Sudan will continue to support and stand by the Council and its General Secretariat, in a manner that contributes to achieving further accomplishments at both regional and international levels.
