The Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) continues to expand its regional impact through supporting community development and cultural preservation initiatives across Africa.
In Gounou-Gaya, Mayo Kebbi Province – Chad, the Moussey community successfully convened its General Assembly, following the outcomes of the Moussey Forum held from 3–4 April 2026.
The Assembly resulted in the establishment of two key associations: a Socio-Economic Development Association and a Cultural Identity Association for the Moussey People, marking an important step toward strengthening local governance and community-driven development.
In a notable achievement, reflecting AAYC’s growing influence in Central Africa, Mr. Hamlha Douksia Senghor, Central Africa Coordinator of the Council, was elected as 1st Vice Coordinator of the Socio-Economic Association, reinforcing the Council’s commitment to youth-led initiatives and sustainable development.
The General Assembly witnessed the participation of several high-level officials, including senior government representatives, members of parliament, advisors to the Prime Minister, and local leaders.
The event was organized by the General Coordination Committee, with active contributions from Mr. Senghor, whose efforts were instrumental in ensuring the success of the gathering.
This milestone highlights the importance of inclusive local governance, community empowerment, and Afro-Arab cooperation in advancing sustainable development and preserving cultural heritage.
