In a major step toward strengthening regional cooperation and youth empowerment, the Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ethiopian Youth Dialogue for Peace Association during the 6th Extraordinary Session of the African Youth Leadership Diplomatic Conference (AYLDC), held at the headquarters of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 🇪🇹.
The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration in the areas of:
Youth leadership
Peacebuilding
Cross-border development initiatives
Youth participation in decision-making
Founded in 2004, the Afro Arab Youth Council is a regional platform bringing together youth from around 60 Arab and African countries to advance participation in development and policymaking through dialogue, cultural exchange, entrepreneurship, rights advocacy, and peacebuilding programmes.
The signing coincided with the Council’s 22nd anniversary, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening youth-led policy engagement, regional cooperation, and sustainable peace across Africa and the Arab world.
The Council emphasized that this partnership represents a strategic move from dialogue to action, and from shared vision to tangible impact for youth and communities.
