Afro Arab Youth Council Participates in the Arab Youth, Peace and Security Forum in Algeria

As part of its continued efforts to strengthen regional cooperation and reinforce the role of youth in peacebuilding and development, the Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) held a high-level meeting with H.E. Sarah Nanas, Minister of Culture, Museums and National Heritage of the Republic of South Sudan.

As part of its continued efforts to strengthen regional cooperation and reinforce the role of youth in peacebuilding and development, the Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) held a high-level meeting with H.E. Sarah Nanas, Minister of Culture, Museums and National Heritage of the Republic of South Sudan.
The Council was represented by Mr. Philip Lawrence, Vice President of the Council for the English Group, who delivered a comprehensive presentation on the Council’s vision and strategic mission, highlighting its major programmes and initiatives across the Arab and African regions, as well as its growing role in youth empowerment, cultural dialogue, and regional integration.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the strategic importance of the Republic of South Sudan in supporting the Council’s objectives, particularly in the fields of peacebuilding, social cohesion, and strengthening cultural exchange among youth.
The meeting also discussed ongoing preparations for the upcoming Youth Peace Conference, which is being hosted in Juba by the Office of the Vice President of the Council representing South Sudan.
In this context, an integrated concept was presented for the cultural festival accompanying the conference, as a dynamic platform to showcase cultural diversity and promote mutual understanding and closer ties among peoples.
Both parties also explored ways in which the Ministry of Culture, Museums and National Heritage can contribute to the success of this event through strengthening institutional partnerships and providing technical and logistical support, ensuring a sustainable and tangible impact for the conference and its accompanying activities.
The meeting comes within the framework of the Afro Arab Youth Council’s efforts to expand its partnerships with governmental and regional institutions, strengthen its presence across African countries, serve youth causes, and enhance their role as active partners in achieving peace and sustainable development.
