The Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) proudly highlights the participation of Mr. Khadim Diop, Vice President of the Afro Arab Youth Council for the Francophone Group and President of the Senegalese National Youth Council, as a distinguished panelist at the Workshop on Strengthening Policies and Capacities for Green Jobs for Young People in Senegal, held from 1–3 July 2026 in Dakar.

The high-level workshop was jointly organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO), UNICEF, and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), in collaboration with national stakeholders. The event brought together policymakers, youth leaders, development partners, and experts to strengthen policies and institutional capacities for promoting green jobs and sustainable employment opportunities for young people in Senegal.

During the panel discussion, Mr. Diop emphasized the critical role of youth organizations in advancing the green economy, promoting sustainable entrepreneurship, and equipping young people with the skills needed to thrive in emerging green sectors. He also underscored the importance of stronger partnerships between governments, international organizations, and youth institutions to accelerate inclusive and sustainable development across Africa.

As both a national youth leader in Senegal and a regional representative within the Afro Arab Youth Council, Mr. Diop's participation reflects AAYC's growing contribution to shaping youth-centered policies on employment, climate action, and sustainable development across Africa and the Arab region.

The Afro Arab Youth Council commends this important initiative and reaffirms its commitment to working closely with governments, United Nations agencies, and development partners to promote green jobs, youth empowerment, and sustainable development throughout Africa and the Arab region.

Together, we are building a greener, more resilient, and prosperous future for the next generation.
