The Afro-Arab Youth Council proudly participated as a Strategic Partner in the 8th Southern Africa Youth Forum (SAYoF 2026), held in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 21 to 24 July 2026, bringing together youth leaders, policymakers, parliamentarians, development partners, academics, entrepreneurs, and civil society representatives from across the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
Held under the theme "Nourishing Futures: Enhancing Food Security and Water Resilience through Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Action for Youth Empowerment," the Forum focused on advancing food security, climate resilience, sustainable agriculture, and youth-led solutions to regional development challenges.
The Council's participation reflects its continued commitment to strengthening Afro-Arab youth cooperation and expanding strategic partnerships that contribute to peace, prosperity, and sustainable development across Africa. It also reaffirms the Council's belief in the vital role of young people as drivers of innovation, leadership, and inclusive development.
Throughout the Forum, the Afro-Arab Youth Council reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Afro-Arab youth cooperation, building strategic partnerships across the continent, supporting the implementation of the African Union Agenda 2063 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and promoting youth leadership, peacebuilding, innovation, and regional integration.
The Council emphasized that strong institutional partnerships among youth organizations are essential for addressing shared challenges, creating sustainable opportunities for young people, and advancing regional cooperation across Africa.
Concluding its participation, the Afro-Arab Youth Council reaffirmed that Africa's future will be shaped by empowered young leaders working together across borders, and that Afro-Arab cooperation remains a cornerstone for building a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable future for the continent.
