The Afro-Arab Youth Council reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening strategic cooperation among African youth institutions during a working meeting between Mr. Khadim Diop, President of the National Youth Council of Senegal and Vice President of the Afro-Arab Youth Council (Francophone Group), and a delegation of the African Youth Union, led by the Union's Secretary-General and Vice President, during an official visit to Dakar, Senegal.
The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts to enhance institutional coordination among African youth organizations, support the implementation of regional youth policies, and explore new opportunities for cooperation in preparation for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
The Afro-Arab Youth Council emphasized that the coming phase requires stronger cooperation and closer coordination between African and Arab youth institutions in order to develop strategic partnerships, encourage youth engagement, and expand opportunities for young people to contribute to sustainable development and continental integration.
The Council also commended the Republic of Senegal for its leadership in hosting the first-ever Youth Olympic Games on African soil, reaffirming its participation in the activities, programmes, and initiatives organized as part of Dakar 2026, while supporting efforts to strengthen the international presence of African and Arab youth.
The Afro-Arab Youth Council continues to work closely with its partners across Africa and the Arab world to build a dynamic institutional network that empowers young leaders, promotes regional cooperation, and contributes to a more peaceful, prosperous, and integrated Africa.
